New Freediving Instructor

Hi everyone,
my name is Tyler Chapman, I am 30 years old German from a tiny village up north of the country.
4,5 years ago, I set off on a journey towards a general change of lifestyle, occupation and to explore the world.
Since then I’ve travelled Australia, New Zealand, South-East Asia, North and Central Amerika making great experiences and having the best times of my life. All of these different places and influences have shaped my personality to the open minded and energetic person I am today.
In Germany my life belonged to the retail branch, but since I’ve learned how to freedive 1,5 years ago it became my passion and changed my life in a way that I cannot imagine living without it anymore.

In my eyes freediving is not only about reaching depth.
It is much more a lifestyle where you dive down on a single breath and discover the underwater world with all its treasures in a very pure and natural way.
Promising more speed and flexibility with the low amount of equipment we use, you will also notice that the whole marine life will show more interest in you, coming very close due to the calmness (no noise or bubbles) underneath the surface.
Freediving means to be mentally strong, whereas being in best shape and health is not a requirement at all. Learning how to hold your breath is a big part of the sport, but once you combine it with the right body position, breathing- and diving technics you will see how easy it is to go for long and deep dives without any struggle.

So if you feel good just being in the water, have a strong mind and are looking for a new challenge in general, I can highly recommend you the SSI Level 1 course (2days) for the beginning. For more experienced and advanced freedivers the SSI level 2 and 3 courses are the best way to improve your freediving skills.
