Alaya Diving programme for beginners

SSI Try Scuba Diving “A fun dive in the sea“

If you’re curious or excited about putting your head under the water but have never breathed with scuba equipment before, an SSI Try Scuba Diving Programme will be just right for you.

Your experienced SSI (Scuba Schools International) Instructor will explain in a short theory session the most important rules for safe and easy diving and familiarize you with the use of scuba equipment.

Next, you’ll go with your instructor into the shallow water for some exercises designed to help you feel comfortable with the new gear. You’ll see how easy the whole thing is and how much fun you can have when you breathe underwater. The instructor will then take you on a discovery dive where you can experience the open sea with its wonderful marine life. The maximum depth for this portion of the programme is 12 meters (for children of ten to twelve years of age maximum depth is 6 meters).

SSI Scuba Diver

If you’ve decided to learn to dive, the SSI (Scuba Schools International) Scuba Diver course is the easiest way.

SSI Scuba Diver training follows the effective training method of classroom, pool then sea. We can’t talk underwater so all that is done in the classroom where important safety information and diving knowledge is gained by the student. The pool is an important link between the classroom and the sea where in a controlled and manageable surrounding new student divers gain mastery and confidence before venturing further. This makes for a safe and enjoyable introduction to the sea where students make their debuts already knowing how to position themselves underwater and manage their new equipment.

On the second day you will then have the first two dives in the sea to a maximum depth of 12 meters on our beautiful house reef. These dives, of course, will be under the supervision and guidance of our SSI Instructors. Safety and fun are the most important factors here.

Upon successful completion of these two days, we can award you the SSI Scuba Diver certificate. With this certification card you can dive worldwide under the supervision of a diving professional to a maximum depth of 12 meters.

SSI Open Water Diver

The SSI Open Water Diver course is the right choice if you plan to dive in the future independently with a partner and explore depths greater than 12 meters.

This international diving certification is recognized worldwide. The first 2 days of the programme correspond to the SSI Scuba Diver course (see above).

On day 3, more exercises follow in shallow water and your theoretical knowledge is extended further. A short written test completes the dive theoretical sessions. On the fourth day you are accompanied and supervised by your SSI Instructor in two more dives to a maximum depth of 18 meters, where the exercises learned are repeated again and refined. Upon successful completion of these 4 days we can certify you as an SSI Open Water Diver.
