SSI Advanced Adventurer Course | Advanced Open Water Diver Course
Certainly one of the most important things in life is education and training. If you are an Open Water Diver and are curious about what lies beyond your current level of diving experience then we have just the thing for you:
We offer a range of specialty courses covering a variety of interesting topics. A great way to find out exactly which topics are right for you is to join an SSI Advanced Adventurer course. You can start more or less at any time during the week and the structure is quite simple.
You only have to participate in 5 different adventure dives. Two topics, deep dive and underwater navigation, are mandatory but you can choose the other 3 adventure dives. These may be boat diving, diving by night, drift diving or underwater photography for example.
Dive rental equipment and boat surcharges are not included during this course.

The course comprises: Theorical instruction, 5 diving experiences with a “SSI Diveleader”
SSI Nitrox Course Level II (up to a maximum of 40 % oxygen)

The Nitrox course doesn’t involve any new physical skills but provides the knowledge for using this popular diving gas safely and to greatly enhance your recreational diving activities. Here is a taster of what you will learn:
How Nitrox can reduce tiredness after diving
- How to enjoy longer bottom times
- How to analyze your Nitrox tank safely and know what’s inside
- How to know your new depth and time limits for safe Nitrox diving
- How use tables and computers for Nitrox diving
- How to handle emergencies
- And how to plan dives and get the most out of your future Nitrox experiences in the Red Sea
Several times a week we offer the chance to train as an Enriched Air Diver / SSI Nitrox diver. You are cordially invited to get involved in this course in order to experience the advantages of diving with Nitrox. Information on dates can be found at the front desk of the dive center.
The SSI Nitrox course lasts for only 2 hours. A little theory, a small final test and you are finished. Your SSI Nitrox instructor will guide you through and explain everything you need to know about diving with Nitrox.

SSI DIVER STRESS & RESCUE
One of the worst things in life is finding yourself in a situation and not knowing how to help properly …especially at sea!
In this regard SSI Diver Stress & Rescue training directly after the Open Water Diver course is advisable and highly rewarding. Maybe you have already been in a stressful diving situation where you did not know what to do. In this course you will develop self-rescue skills, search and recovery techniques and learn how to assist other divers in need both in and out of the water.
Various exercises and scenarios are acted out such as the exhausted diver on the surface, panicked divers, unconscious divers who have stopped breathing underwater, missing divers, divers without air supply, divers who are stuck and controlled emergency ascents with simulated victims.
Many divers find this a highly resourceful and rewarding experience leaving them well prepared to handle a variety of underwater emergency situations.
Minimum age: 15 years SSI Diver Stress & Rescue
Training Level:
- Completed Open Water course
- First aid training including heart and lung resusitation (course within the last 12 months)

1 Day 2 Dive Specialty courses
Which underwater topics interest you? Perhaps night diving or deep diving? You might have noticed during your Advanced Adventure Diver course that you are drawn to specific areas of interest and wish to have more training for those subjects. We call these ‘Specialty Courses’ because they concentrate heavily on those subjects alone.
Your SSI specialty instructor will go over a number of interesting facts about your desired topic with you. During the course you will deepen your knowledge through theoretical and practical lessons.
