The Coraya Divers Marsa Alam is ISO certified

At the 1st of June 2015 Coraya Divers Marsa Alam get the ISO 24803 certification. The audit was held from the Chamber of Diving and Watersport (CDWS). The inspectors of the CDWS check everything like compressor, safety standards, equipment maintenance and did interviews with guests and staff of Coraya Divers.

The ISO certification is according to the Austrian Standards Institute. ISO 24803 specifies requirements for service providers in the field of recreational scuba diving it specifies the areas of service provision: training and education, organized and guided diving for certified divers and rental of diving equipment.

As Coraya Divers standards exceed the ISO standards it was no problem to get the certification.

Become a SSI Instructor under perfect conditions.

From 7th till 17th of March 2015, Coraya Divers Marsa Alam are organising an ITC (Instructor Training Course). The course will be held in English and German from Instructor Trainer Nino Faranda.

During the ITC there will be the possibility to do the Advanced Open Instructor, Dive Con Specialist Instructor and some Specialty Instructor Courses.

There are three class-rooms available for the theory lessons.

The confined and open water lessons will be held in the protected Marsa Umm Gerifat bay. Marsa Umm Gerifat is the house reef of Coraya Divers and is known for their richness in fish. The bay is well protected and you can dive there all year round.

Directly at the entrance you can find some training platforms and a buoyancy parcour. Inside the bay you find places for Navigation, Search & Recovery, Deep Dive, Night Dive and Current Dive.

 

The home of Coraya Divers, the Madinat Coraya disposes about 5 hotels and is only 10 minutes away from the International Airport Marsa Alam.

With the support of Coraya Divers one of the most popular programs on German TV managed to perform a show where one of the presenters- a novice diver- had to take a selfie with a dugong, but he was told that he would risk his life by doing so. Our staff played along very convincingly and enjoyed a lot to scare him!

New management on board of Coraya Divers in Marsa Alam

After all in all 12 years in the Madinat Coraya Sonja und Kai Dunkelmann and their new twins (delivery date:  Feb 2015) left our beautiful Egypt to take on new challenges in good old Germany. For this task we wish them “all the best and good luck”and would like to take the opportunity to thank them again for all these years of dedicated and successful commitment for the ‘Coraya family’.

And who are their successors? We are very happy that we could assign this task to Tina and Nino Feranda. Two ‘veterans’ who knew the area between El Quesir and Marsa Alam already like the back of their hand since they have managed already successfully  two big dive centres in the region. Followed then by management posts in Oman and the Maledives. With their quiet and professional attitude they made a big number of friends over the years, not only amongst their guests but also with colleagues from the diving industry. For sure they will give their best to master this new challenge. Of course they are strongly supported by the entire Coraya team in their common effort to bring the quality, fun and safety of diving with Coraya Divers to a new level.
